Beyond the Trenches

World War One was a truly global war, and we wanted to show that. So we set out to find the most incredible stories we could.

Baku - oil

During the war every single one of the world’s forces found themselves in Baku, fighting over a new kind of resource. Tracing the story, we found ourselves at the origin of a battle that still rages to this day. 

Tanzania - Warship

What’s a 100-year-old German warship doing in Lake Tanganyika? We got on board, with a hexacopter, to find out. 

Here are some of the things I’m proud of.

They include—but are not limited to—developing and presenting a mixed-reality series, breaking Wikipedia records, training journalists around the world and telling stories about Cossacks, fishing, Apartheid, sport, Shakespeare, science fiction, deafness, Azeri oil, the world’s oldest passenger ferry, and pagans.
